My role at VSG centers around two objectives: 1) project management - working with clients to achieve their goals, and 2) the operations of the firm, managing our accounting, insurance and legal services, directing our research and marketing efforts, and supporting the other VSG partners in client project fulfillment.

This office of the largest sports architectural and design firm in the world (formerly HOK Sport) consults with existing facilities to better their operations and management, as well as recommends captial expenditures to keep facilities in good repair over the course of their lifetime. We also consult with the professional sports organizations and various collegiate conferences on guest services benchmarking (ie. mystery shopping) so that customer satisfaction can be maintained at a high level. For our architects, we provide reviews of new arenas, stadiums and convention centers.

Responsible for all management facets of a 14,000 seat sports and entertainment arena. Departments included finance (including box office/ticketing), sales & marketing, operations, and food service. Through direct reports, I managed a full time staff of 25 plus 200-300 part time workers.

Supported VP of Operations for this private management firm by writing bid specifications, creating preopening, capital, and operating budgets, administering insurance and risk management programs, working on Grand Opening teams, and providing general operations support to the family of LMI managed facilities.
