About Tom Worker-Braddock

My unique background combining progressive city ideals and an American West pragmatism, while influenced by deep personal connections to rural areas and major international cities, have given me a unique approach to examining transportation solutions appropriate to the context. In order to be truly successful, the final, sustainable solution has to fit within the fiscal constraints, the culture, and meet the local definition of success. This means listening to local citizens, elected officials, and technical staff to determine if a more incremental change is appropriate, or if the situation requires a truly innovative solution from outside the region. My experience includes Long Range Transportation Plans, Comprehensive Service Analyses for a variety of transit agencies in small cities, Very Small Starts applications for Bus Rapid Transit projects, and alternative analyses for commuter rail. This work is grounded in honest and transparent assessments of the situations relying on realistic ridership forecasts, and respect for local citizens and tax payers. My colleagues benefit from my personal experience in transit as a policy maker, citizen advocate, planner, and much more importantly, captive transit user for extended periods in Boulder Colorado, Seattle, Washington, Chengdu, China, and Lawrence, Kansas. I pair this with deep experience in ArcGIS mapping and analysis, transit operations and planning, corridor planning, and regional transportation plan development. Other specialties include policy analysis, demographic forecasting, project management, and public engagement.
