I wanted to work toward developing a vision and strategy for success, manage by values, and create an empowering environment where revenues would be maximized and where quality would be improved. It was my belief that I could accomplish these objectives while significantly improving operating results. Deer Creek presented me that opportunity in Wimberley, Texas. Much of my prior experience had been focused on a quick turn around for my personal advancement. I had the opportunity at Deer Creek to have a focused plan for the long-term success of a single Rehabilitation and extended care facility.

I began my career in long-term care administration with Beverly Enterprises as an Administrator in Training in 1989. I successfully managed three long -term care facilities for this organization. The first was Park Plaza Care Center a 120- bed Medicaid facility located in Fort Worth, Texas. Capital City a 120-bed facility and The Arbor a 388-bed facility both located in Austin, Texas. I was promoted to Regional Director of Operations for the Austin/ San Antonio region. I was responsible for the leadership and management of 11 long terms care facilities. Beverly left the State of Texas in 1996.
