I led and executed production of NewsNight, a weekly news discussion program, including conceptualizing topics for each episode, researching and writing news stories, and booking interviews with local leaders, experts and stakeholders for those stories. I also scheduled working journalists to appear on the show’s panel and oversaw production of each episode, including directing and assisting with shooting and editing video. I also wrote all copy and scripts for air, and helped plan the social media strategy for marketing the show.

Responsible for all written content on the Orlando Apollos, including feature/lifestyle stories, business insight, game previews, recaps and practice reports, posted on the Apollos website as well as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Covered camps, practices and games as well as community events. Reported breaking news stories on social media. Wrote content in a consistent voice that adhered to brand positioning and core values. Gave on-the-record interviews on behalf of the team to local and national radio shows and podcasts. I also hosted and anchored regular video packages for social media, in addition to the weekly team podcast and the halftime report during live game radio broadcasts.

I remotely researched and wrote rip-and-read style newscasts for 24/7 News Network, a partnership between iHeartMedia and NBC News Radio. The newscasts were sent to radio affiliates across the country in major markets.

I wrote scripts and produced television news-style videos for convention and trade show clients, as well as informational and marketing videos for the web and social media on behalf of various professional associations and event organizers. I also managed and organized teams of people to complete video projects on-site at trade shows and conventions.

Served as a fill-in news anchor and newscast producer for a morning drive news and talk show on a 50,000-watt AM station with FM simulcast, delivering news updates twice an hour and leading talk segments involving offbeat news stories. I also filled in as afternoon writer/producer for Florida News Network, a statewide radio news network with affiliates in Tallahassee, Tampa and Miami, choosing, writing and distributing stories throughout the network.

I was the primary copywriter for the 5 p.m. newscast on a 24-hour local cable news station, researching and writing large amounts of broadcast copy under constant deadline pressure. I also took part in daily story pitch meetings, helping choose stories for the newscast. In addition, I oversaw planning and production of daily, long-form interview segments with experts and newsmakers, including researching interview topics and questions. During my time there, I excelled at leading and motivating teams of varying specialties and skill levels to produce daily newscasts and special event coverage, and as part of a team of three, produced Emmy-award-winning coverage of the memorial for the Pulse nightclub shooting victims. I was named station Employee of the Month in August 2011.

I planned and hosted a weekly comedy podcast discussing sports and pop culture, including booking interview guests. In addition, I developed and oversaw execution of our social media strategy on Facebook, Twitter and the show's website, including placement of paid ads.
