I started in IT in 1995 after a stint in broadcast television technology, where I designed, installed, integrated, and maintained broadcast and industrial video systems. My experience in this field led me naturally to a fascination with PC computing, operating systems, application development, and database programming. To pursue these interests in a warmer climate, I moved from the New York suburbs to the "Research Triangle", the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina. There I worked my way up in IT from Help Desk to business application and web development and administration at a technology manufacturing company in Research Triangle Park. After six years, a buyout, restructuring, and multiple rounds of layoffs, I eventually (in 2003) found myself at a small company called Archibus Solution Centers, Research Triangle ("ASC-RT"). ASC-RT was and is a VAR specializing in an Enterprise class Integrated Workplace Management System called Archibus. Archibus customers are some of the largest organizations in the world who use it to manage every aspect of their Real Estate, Space Management, and Facilities operations. These organizations partner with companies like ASC-RT to maintain and install, maintain, and upgrade their Archibus systems, and to customize them to meet a vast variety of business situations and needs. In 21 years at ASC-RT, I worked with and helped many of these businesses, while building skills in full stack development, consulting, customer service, process improvement, user interface design, and system integration, to name just a few of the areas that I was fortunate to be exposed to. Now, starting in 2024, I seek to leverage these decades of experience as a freelance contract developer and business consultant, while aggressively pursuing personal projects that are my (so far) unrealized dreams and life's work.
