About Tomás Lopez Olocco

Trained as a Mechanical Engineer at UTN, as well as throughout my professional background, I've developed an interest in Offshore Wind Energy. My passion for this field resulted in a PhD in Naval Architecture, Marine and Ocean Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). My PhD is focused on the modeling and analysis of novel mooring systems and dynamics of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines.The research that I conduct focuses on modeling, analyzing, and testing Floating Wind Turbines. Also, part of my work is the validation of servo-elastic-hydro-aero numerical models with the experimental data obtained from ocean basin tests that I analyze. I am a self-driven, passionate, and fast learner engineer willing to tackle major technical challenges in the field of Offshore Renewable Energy. My communication skills have allowed me to successfully work with international teams from Argentina, Brazil, Spain, France, Norway, China, Japan, and the USA, among others. I seek constant personal improvement and that of the team in which I am working.
