About Tomas Sanchez

I am thoroughly passionate about environmental science and sustainability and have successfully completed my Masters within this field, specialising in Environmental Security at Monash University. I have also successfully completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Earth and Environmental Science in 2015. My Bachelor of Science taught broad range of concepts about Earth’s natural processes, which included mapping, field work, geological interpretations and the assessment of ecological changes in dynamic environments. My Masters studies focused on water resource management, climate science, biodiversity and natural resource management. The course also focused on the further development of scientific communication skills to various stakeholders within the natural resource sector. I have tremendous love and passion for the outdoors and the worlds natural resources, and I have been lucky enough to explore hundreds of varying protected areas and landscapes across the globe. I am experienced in conservation and land management, which stems from an internship I completed in Yosemite National Park, USA. My role there included resource and project management at one of the most visited national parks in the world. I learnt a variety of skills including; how to manage teams of volunteers, restoration techniques, sampling techniques, revegetation methods, general maintenance and interpretational skills.
