I loved primary school when I was younger, I remember it as being so exciting and fun. My teachers were great (from an educational perspective), however, they lacked the knowledge and training required to support students, such as myself, who were dealing with personal hardship. At the time there was no one in school I felt I could go to for help or support. I felt like an outsider; I felt lost. I am almost twenty years out of Primary school now and have come to realise how crucial those early, developmental years are for children and how important it is, that children to know how to access relative support and not feel intimidated by the thought or act of seeking help. Knowing they are not the only one, and that other children are dealing with similar issues could be a lifesaver for even just one young individual.I am currently undertaking the University Pathway course through Charles Sturt University (CSU). Upon completion of the pathway, I aspire to pursue further studies by gaining my Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary). My passion for teaching stems from my own experience in primary school and seeing my 3 younger siblings going through their primary years. Early Childhood teaching is a dream of mine. I am driven to improve and implement more levels of support for young children and endeavour to enhance their Primary School experience in ways that will help shape their futures for the better.
