At the time, the company was developing a system that was able to retrieve power status information from the power network by a sort of "black box" on the power polls that were constantly gathering data. This data was then send to a main server once a week and it had to be processed and shown nicely.So my work (together with one more colleague) was to develop a program that could be able to import the data, store it into a DB and then allow a user to see this information in a cool and intuitive way. This was all developed in Visual Basic.
