I like to design stuff.I enjoy the creative forces bouncing around and popping into my mind as I stare at a blank sheet of paper (or whatever). Imagination tempered by science, all fed by artistic interest and curiosity, has given me the good fortune to design dozens of commercialized products and mechanical systems.My creative side, with its diaphanous wash of artistry upon scientific bedrock, has been nurtured by wonderful collaborations. Most of my Eureka moments seem to come when I am alone and out of the office (at least my best ideas); however, I have enjoyed my collaborations with talented people and benefited from these exchanges. Collaborations bring out the best ideas and certainly add to the joy of the design process. Late night bull sessions fed with wild concepts, are played like volleyball games with ideas bounced back and forth between the players -- increasing in their perfection with each hit.
