Born in in the Swiss Alps, Tomas Muscionico earned a master's degree in Photography at the Schule für Gestaltung Zürich, Zhdk, then relocated to New York, where he joined Contact Press Images, one of the world’s premiere photo agencies. For the next two decades, he traveled the world, visiting over fifty countries to document the major stories of our times — including wars in the Balkans, Chechnya, Haiti, the Middle East, Rwanda, Somalia, and South Africa — and major political figures, among them Kofi Annan, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Vaclav Havel, Nelson Mandela, Colin Powell, George Soros, Donald Trump, Desmond Tutu, and Lech Walesa. He also covered social impact stories, including neo-Nazis in Louisiana, Native American teenagers in South Dakota, and the homeless in Washington, D.C. His work has received international acclaim, including a World Press Photo award, multiple Picture of the Year awards, and exhibitions at the United Nations, Nikon Gallery Zurich, and is held in numerous private collections.
