As a team member of the Xeikon Inkjet Center of Competence, I study and model the complex processes involved in inkjet printing concerning piezoelectric printheads, both with UV-curable and water-based inks. More specifically, I mainly focus on waveform design, drop formation analysis, curing and drying behaviour, image screening, image artefact detection through image processing and neural networks, missing nozzle compensation, and ink supply system design, within the variety of Xeikon inkjet applications. Each of these parameters has a profound effect on the final print quality and should therefore be meticulously understood and controlled to achieve the most optimal and robust print quality for each specific application.
