I became a TL in the same project where I was a developer. For over 4 years I had been split my time for managing (5-12) great people, working as a full-stack developer and technical team leader. The project was evolving and sometimes I had to handle agile process as well. I was responsible for people skills, so I was involved in the recruitment process of Python developers and QA. Quality is in first place, so we worked on agreements like extreme high code coverage for unit tests, continuous integration, performance or functional automated tests. I used TDD and BDD methodology. I worked on our custom framework for automated tests, using Gherkin, Python, Docker and Selenium. I paid attention to efficiency and prepare it, so that all the capacity of the machine is used fully. I built a high quality submissions system for the UK market. My primary framework was Django with all the main advantages like Celery or Django Rest Framework. I was mostly involved with backend and managing CI server. That was the beginning of my adventure with professional programming. My first project was a small application based on web2py for a local beauty studio. The system handled the whole process of a client visit with all medical specifications (including videos and images as attachments). My second project was an ERP system with many modules like:“CRM / reports” - I integrated open source JS components like “full calendar”, “table grids”, “gantt graphs”,“Mail client” - I worked on indexing and queue systems,“Time tracking / holidays” - I first experienced meta programming and dynamically created “things”,“E-commerce”, JSON-RPC based api - I developed cash register integration with local python backend - pyserial,“Invoices / Warehouse” - As part of a team I built the core engine and worked on UI widgets, “Integrations” - I integrated Google maps, Payu, Asterisk.My responsibilities were system configuration, automated deployment, system development, ux designing and contacting the clients. “Man of many parts” but it was the extremely intensive and productive time in my career because I touched every part of the software building process. A part of my responsibilities was developing websites based on wordpress and joomla CMS systems. I worked with graphic designers and took the first step in my experience with UX. In many moments I was involved in designing web interface because finally I implemented it in the frontend. I was responsible to manage product from design, deployment, integration to users’ training, so I can say I acted as a full-stack. I sometimes had to develop some custom modules in PHP.
