One of the lead developers participated in the design and development of the next-generation software platform for Risk & Finance IT. The primary objective of the dataflow execution platform is processes orchestration and moving and transforming (ETL) very large amounts of data from heterogenous upstream systems (RDBMS, FTP servers, NFS, HTTP/REST) to denormalized form on Big Data stack (Hadoop/Cloudera) which can be easily and quickly used by business analytics and reporting tools. The system currently has multiple production instances(UK/CH) being used by multiple vertical solution delivery teams and runs hundreds ofbusiness processes across Credit Suisse Risk & Finance IT.My main accomplishments:Actively participated in the selection of architecture and software components. design, andimplementation (Java 8, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Integration, Oracle, JMS, Quartz)of core system components including distributed executor nodes and messaging platformbetween them. Developed some of the trigger mechanisms for workflows ensuring that onlyone node in a distributed system triggers executing the data-flow. Designed andimplemented many of generic tasks on the platform from which the workflows/data flowscan be built (data sources, processors, data sinks). Evaluated and selected web framework to be used for admin user interface. Created UI design proposal and mockups using wire framing software.
