In 2016, I qualified as a Design & Technology teacher. I restored an old workshop and opened a makerspace at Yule Brooke College, Maddington. This allowed the students a better access to the Technologies curriculum and aligned with the aims of Big Picture education design embedded in our school. In these spaces, students are encouraged and now resourced to pursue their interests. The spaces also assist colleagues across different learning areas in making physical artefacts to improve student learning.
