As Director for Disney, I established the labor relations strategy for the Disneyland Resort including two theme parks, three hotels and a retail, dining, and entertainment venue with 20K+ employees (approximately 85% unionized). I also served as chief negotiator for the collective bargaining agreements at Disneyland (17 agreements with 23 union affiliates), as well as managed the onsite employee health services department and supervised a staff of 15 direct reports. A few of my noteworthy accomplishments included: • Developed a limited work program for employees to reduce workers’ compensation and disability costs.• Evaluated each CBA against the overall labor strategy and systematically developed a bargaining strategy for each agreement to include reducing the overall number of employees, maximizing hours of existing employees, reduction of benefit costs and creating a more flexible workforce. • Headed negotiations for initial agreements for new theme park and hotel to support expansion by reaching agreements with unions that enabled the company to reach favorable operational terms.
