The Xenia Area Community Theater, X*ACT, is comprised of local citizens that truly want to make a difference in the cultural enrichment of Xenia, OH., a community of approximately 27,000 people. It is the role of the executive director to advance the mission and goals of the organization and to work in the areas of oversight, development, which include funding, operations and marketing. The position reported to the board of directors. Before leaving in early 2020, I designed and wrote a grant for a special needs drama therapy program. The Dayton Book Fair Foundation awarded X*ACT the $10,000 grant in February 2020.Volunteers put in many hours to ensure an enriching experience for the participants and the audiences for the programs that are selected (one every 2 months). Everyone involved takes great pride in the quality that local residents have come to expect from theatre and an arts center.
