I work as Policy Advisor Research at the BMS Research Support Office. As part of the Young Professional traineeship, I set up an internationalisation strategy for the faculty of BMS, in line with a UT-wide vision. Secondly, I helped expand the BMS Teaching Academy and work on teacher professionalisation. The traineeship features a personal development learning track.

Virtual Dutch Language Cafe is an initiative by the UT Language Centre in which international students and staff members can practice their Dutch skills on a daily basis in an informal setting, moderated by a fluent Dutch speaker. On a weekly basis, I served as moderator for these meetings, boosting conversation and explaining theory where necessary.

In this role, I focused on communication with students, for instance through proper involvement of the study associations in faculty decision making.

For my Master thesis, I was involved in the Strategy domain at Trimm, finding ways to improve strategy-making sessions given to clients. This culminated in my thesis titled "A methodology to formulate advice using a process-focused approach", which was awarded an 8/10. This thesis allowed me to combine my interested in strategic thinking and business, with a designer approach to stakeholder involvement and project management.

The Buddy Program is an initiative of the University of Twente in which students are matched to an international student, to help them get acquainted with the Dutch culture. As part of the board, I fulfilled the role of secretary and helped organise activities, design newsletters, and spread awareness of the program.

For my Bachelor thesis, I developed a tool to help caregivers to maintain and improve their "motivational interviewing" skills. A key part in this was to facilitate the caregiver and client to reflect on their experiences together, by means of a well-designed tool.
