Project Manager
Current• Scoping, planning, and delivering a variety of research projects, programmes and portfolios.• Ownership and preparation of project budgets to ensure they are not exceeded and spent on relevant project items.• Preparation of associated project management and support documentation• Detailed management, control and reporting throughout the project lifecycle for relevant project progress. • Interrogating and employing actions based on finance data.• Monthly invoicing and financial review of projects, working directly with AMRC Finance team representatives.• Responsibility of timesheet preparation and checks for the project team.• Providing project management to a team working alongside technical peers/engineers to deliver projects within cost, time and to quality.• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels• Plan and carry out tasks and responsibilities over the short-medium term, with an awareness of longer-term issues. Use discretion to determine priorities and resolve conflicts to allow the team to meet targets and deadlines, incl. risk and issue management• Coordinate and liaise with other members of the AMRC groups and teams over work engagement and progress. • Manage project to meet deliverables and milestones for internal and external stakeholders, incl. Innovate UK, UK Government, HVMC, Commercial et al.• Make ethical decisions embedding the UoS sustainability strategy into working activities wherever possible.• Develop and demonstrate robust, world-leading methods of manufacture from shop floor to industry partner site• Creative approach and application of problem-solving skills combined with the development of research and technology theories and applied manufacturing solutions in a non-production environment
