I am an experienced Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MSCSI) providing independent Cost Consultancy services to private and public clients for the past 13 years. During this time, I have had the opportunity to work on many large scale projects, in my various roles as Senior Surveyor, Associate and Partner at MacMinn O'Reilly Mahon.Prior to the recession, I worked on numerous large scale apartment and housing developments, with budgets ranging from €18m to €40m. On a number of these projects, my role extended beyond typical QS services, to include Contract Administration and Project Management. During the recession, I assisted Receivers in the completion of multiple partially finished large scale developments. This work was undertaken during challenging times and involved complex negotiations with key suppliers, sub-contractors and professionals. Additional services provided include:• Assisting Receiver to develop project scope so as to allow completion of partially finished building.• Assisting Receiver In Preparing Contract Documents.• Discussions and negotiations with key sub-contractors regarding outstanding certification.• Preparation of BER certification.• Co-ordination of building compliance documentation and certification.• Co-ordination of safety file completion. Since 2009, my main area of work has been pharmaceutical and industrial developments. The majority are repeat clients, so maintaining standards and exceeding expectations is key. Some of the more notable pharma/industrial projects included an approx. €40m Bausch + Lomb expansion; €9m Lancaster Laboratory expansion; factory expansion for Rexam and a major pharma expansion for Mylan at Baldoyle.
