He has deep boardroom experience in public, private and non-profit entities both and has experience in Compensation and Nominating/Governance committees. He has the aptitude to discern cross-functionally to solve problems and identify opportunities within commercial, R&D, manufacturing and G&A.CEOTom is a two-time CEO in healthcare-related businesses. Most recently, he was CEO of SwanBio, a gene therapy company in rare, neurological diseases taking the company from early discovery stage to clinical stage in less than 3-1/2 years. During that time, he and Swan’s Leadership Team overcame issues related to IND-enabling studies, manufacturing, IND submission and acceptance and clinical trial design and execution. He was also President & CEO of Ranir Corporation, a privately-held dental products concern, based in Grand Rapids, MI. During Tom's tenure, sales grew 64% while EBIT/profitability improved by 50% in less than three years.BIOPHARMA & CPG EXPERIENCETom has been a key leader in start-up, mid-sized and Fortune 50 companies throughout his 30-year career in biopharma and CPG industries. At Shire and Sage, both companies experienced extraordinary growth (five- and eleven fold at peak growth multiples, respectively). He was part of the Leadership Team which took Sage public in 2014. He has a high financial IQ with deep boardroom experience (>20 years) both as a board member and a member of management.
