What could be achieved if you weren’t afraid? Do you end every day knowing that you gave it your best?These two questions have helped form my approach to work and embody my modus operandi.Like many of the time, I left the Irish shores in the early 1990s in search of something more. Ireland was a different place at that time, prior to the Celtic Tiger. As with so many of my peers, my travels brought me to the United States and to Australia. Meeting an immense diversity of people, nationalities, and mindsets, I learned a lot about working with people and quickly came to learn how central people are to the success of every business. Returning to a different Ireland from the one I left, I maintained this perspective as I began my career - first with Contract People, then moving to PRL In-Market Solutions and now to WOW Inspiring Group.I’ve worked within businesses of all sizes and across different sectors – from the small, agile SME where owner-operator decisions were made quickly, to large multinationals – which by the way, I liken to moving “from a speed boat to a super tanker”! – where I had to learn to navigate my way through various processes and procedures and negotiate the validity of decisions before taking them.Being in the thick of the various trials and tribulations associated with growing a business (no matter the size nor sector), taught me that if there’s an interest, passion and vision, anything can be achieved.While I bring these learnings to each new role, I am open to change and learning new approaches. I will challenge the status quo. I am not afraid to ask “Why?” – but I will do so respectively and in a collaborative fashion.I have found that the harder I work, the luckier I get with the people and organsiations I get to work with. So I’m determined to remain focused and enjoy the ride for as long as I can!
