The UgenTec software heavily relies on proprietary algorithms to help customers. I design and build high-performance data solutions at the artificial intelligence team that support, broaden, and deepen these algorithms, for which I connect software engineering principles with data science and domain knowledge. In addition, I aim to apply an agile way of working to a small cross-functional data science and engineering team.

At Kunlabora we build "tailor-made" software together. Using the metaphor of a software factory we take advantage of gathered customer knowledge and iteratively create a software solution. My personal focus is on the integration of AI methods into data intensive applications.

As a software engineer at Cegeka, I develop Java applications and am eager to discover new insights through data exploration and analysis at scale using machine learning methods in an Agile environment. Next to gaining knowledge of advanced technologies, I have learnt to identify business needs, and to handle technology in a way that responds to concrete business problems.

I am trying to unite textual genetic research of James Joyce’s final work, Finnegans Wake, done by many researchers over many years into a relational database structure that links every component of Joyce’s writing process—his library, notebooks, manuscripts, and texts. I argue that the database model can be used to visualise the cognitive scientific notion of the “extended” mind at work.
