I lead a not-for-profit, countywide economic development organization whose mission is to promote, develop, and facilitate industrial, commercial, and business enterprises in Lee County, Illinois, including aiding in the retention and expansion of current businesses. I work with government officials, business leaders, and community members on project attraction, site selection, real estate transactions, incentive opportunities, financing, and workforce development in order to bring economic growth to our county.

Member of the Board of Trustees at Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Illinois. Serving a six-county area in northwest Illinois, SVCC has been a leader in education and a valued part of the community since 1965.

I was elected to five terms in the Illinois House of Representatives, where I served as Deputy Minority Leader and State Representative for the 90th District in DeKalb, LaSalle, Lee and Ogle Counties in north central Illinois. I was chief budget negotiator and healthcare policy lead for the House Republican caucus. I also served on the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules, the Legislative Budget Oversight Commission, and in leadership positions on many budget and healthcare committees.

I was most recently Director of Innovation & Strategy and a member of the senior leadership team at KSB Hospital, a not-for-profit community hospital with locations in Lee and Ogle Counties. Starting as a summer employee in high school and college, I joined full-time after college and over the following 13 years, I led organizational strategic planning, communications, marketing and public relations, and oversaw the multi-stakeholder community health needs assessment process. My prior roles at KSB Hospital included Director of Strategic Planning, Director of Marketing & Public Relations, and Government Relations Coordinator.

I was elected to a full term on the County Board in the 2010 General Election, after having been appointed to the County Board in September 2009. During my term, I served on the Properties Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Executive Committee.

I was an intern in the Office of Domestic Policy within the Office of the Vice President of the United States. I assisted with with office work and completed diverse research assignments in a time-intensive, fast-paced work environment.
