In 2006, I was fired from my corporate finance job. I had a wife, a 4-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter at home. I was supposed to be the provider and I was failing. I had a great education, worked with some very accomplished people up to that point and had achieved quite a bit. But this was the third time in 4 years that I lost my job. I was done relying on others for my livelihood!I felt like the universe was pushing me to finally start my entrepreneurial career that I had been dreaming about. Nothing really worked out.Then we found self storage -> 2017 we started looking into self storage. > 2018 we did the research and went to the conferences to get educated about the self storage industry. > 2019 we joined a self storage mastermind group and built out our team and our business plan.> 2020 we acquired our first facility. THAT’s when we really started learning. Now we have acquired over $45,000,000 of self storage across 7 states. We exited 3 facilities generating returns for our investors well above our projections.
