I find people fascinating. The way we interact with each other and how our complex emotions, needs and and wants make us treat ourselves and each other is a never ending source of interest. In a different life, I'd have been a behavioural psychologist. But instead I'm a lawyer, focussed on how businesses can better manage the relationships between people to avoid legal risk and achieve great results.Regulating relationships between people is no less complex. As the workforce changes, as teams become more diverse and as they work in multiple locations, employers need to adapt their approaches to continue to be legally and ethically compliant. In turn, history shows that governments will regulate more, and in different ways, in an effort to protect workers' rights. The need for support in navigating regulatory complexity is only set to increase.My team supports employers in the UK and overseas with a wide range of issues ranging from strategic advice on board level engagements and terminations, through the management of international outsourcing and M&A projects and the compliance with minimum wage and other pay-related regulation, to the complexities of managing workplace change, including in a trade union context.I have for many years supported UK businesses with industrial relations issues and am a recognised expert in this field. In addition to my work advising unionised employers and those facing requests for union recognition on some of their most complex legal and industrial issues, I have extensive experience of helping clients successfully navigate their non-union collective employee relations challenges. These include managing consultation/negotiations with employee forums, preparing for and implementing collective redundancies and TUPE transfers, and the setting up of and consultation with European Works Councils.
