Utilizing the PLEX program and Bar-coding system, I would travel to all cell sites and do a complete Audit and all RF and associated equipment for WiMAX including; MOTOROLA GAP , MOTOROLA WAP400 (DAP), MOTOROLA WAP450 (DAP), SAMSUNG GAP (INDOOR), SAMSUNG GAP (OUTDOOR), SAMSUNG SPI2213 FRAS (DAP), SAMSUNG OUTDOOR PICOCELL , ETHERNET SWITCH, Foundry (aka Brocade), Ciena (aka World Wide Packets “WWP”), SITE COMMANDER (AKA SITE BOSS), POWER DISTRIBUTION UNIT, MW MODEM, , Dragonwave AirPair, Dragonwave DUO, Dragonwave DUO 1+1, Nortel Secure Router 3120 (Avaya), HVAC Units, etc…. After Identifying and locating this equipment, the bar-code info along with Photo’s would be uploaded into the PLEX data base for Auditors and engineers at Ericsson and Clearwire.

As project lead my job was to coordinate the De-commissioning of the Nortel SL-100 Switch that was located at Boeing in St. Louis. With a crew of 8 Technicians we systematically removed the switch which involve; Switch shutdown, removal of power packs, Line cards, PM cards, power and cabling mining (making sure techs were aware of live traffic on the racks and the location of the live cables), earthquake ironwork removal, Frame wiring and block removal, 105 SL-100 switch bays, coordinating with local moving trucks for shipping and removing all contents of the switch.

As a stand alone company, we are responsible for preparing and processing all documentation required to fulfill the project. Documentation includes, site installation manual, site survey, equipment engineering, etcThis was accomplished by daily video and conference calls between the SVT (site visit teams) which consist of 7 teams with three people on each team. Most team members were also working from home offices and in contact with the corporate headquarters. After all documentation was completed, each team was assigned to a military post and would fly there for a site visit to meet with the post commanders and other personnel to discuss and prepare for equipment installation. There would be 3 site visits. Site visit, site survey and site installation. Site rack equipment includes: iSCSI switches, app servers, disk storage array, backup tape drives, Lan switch. Office processing equipment includes: printers, scanners, desktop computers, etc.

Cisco Router/Frame Relay upgrade: This project consist of a store chain of over 900 stores to replace old Cisco routers with new Cisco 2821 Routers. Procedures include; Telnet to routers for FTP Configs, verify dial access to all stores, test and verify T-1s, verify ISDN connectivity, add PVCs to both OC-12s, add routers to NETSCOUT Probes for monitoring network, dial into stores using hyper terminal via dial-up modem, activate ISDN and disable EIGRP peer with current head end router, make device configuration changes, verify IP connectivity, verify Ckt matches port speed, bring store routers up and write new configurations to NETSCOUT.\and verify new bandwidth changes. Installation, design, test and turn-up of voice and data networks for businesses, hotels, airports etc? Job responsibilities consist of routing voice and Data (CAT-5) cables to client’s specified locations. Installing wall plates and terminating connectors in appliance with color code. At the communications room, I would then install and terminate terminal blocks, jumpers and test all T-1 connections with the FLUKE line test set from patch panels to insure correct continuity and polarity, terminate outside CO cables, fiber optic cable for networking, equipment racks and networking systems such as Cisco switches, routers, hubs and patch panels. Installation of the telephone systems PBX, Key systems (depending on what the client ordered) Panasonic, Nortel, Mitel, etc. Installing telephone sets and programming to client’s specifications.

Job responsibility includes supervision of drive testers and to collect drive test data utilizing a UNIX base wireless location system. Work directly with the cell site technicians to ensure the correct installation of the LMU’s, (location measuring units), cable and wave guide types and lengths to insure accurate delay, insertion lose measurements, accurate TREMBLE GPS tower location, height, and elevation GPS antena location, height and elevation, and other measurements for accuracy so that the SMLC, (SERVING MOBILE LOCATION CENTER) can perform correct calculations for locating the mobile phones and other mobile devices location using TDOA technology, (TIME DIFFERENCE OF ARRIVAL). Once the LMU has been programmed with the correct information, I will test for connectivity from the MTSO to the cell site T-1s using test ports from the Tellabs 5500 DACS. After drive testers complete their daily routes, I then send all the data for the engineers to analyze.

Performing site surveys for AT&T for the E-911 installation of their new hardware and software. Duties include taking inventory and making sketches and drawings of the existing equipment and drawings and measurements for the future E-911 equipment. This includes mounting of new telecom bays, cable racks, power cable, Data cable, spare fuses and whatever it takes for the new installation of the E-911.

Responsibilities include: Running test on T-1’s coming from approx. 120 Wireless towers to the mobile switching office, (MTSO), These test were done with the T-BERD test set from the patch panel at the MSO. After head to head testing with the field techs at the Mobile tower site, I would then run extensive test on the T-1’s that include different test patterns, 3 in 24, 1 in 8, QRSS, all ones, all zeros, Bridge-tap and multi-pat. T-1’s were then tested for 24 hours. After each T-1 passed all test error free, I would then accept the T-1’s and notify the local telco. I would then go to the TELLABS 5500/532 DACS and map the T-1’s to the correct DS-3, either to our Switch or to the local Telco. Also responsible for hard wiring and turn-up of the SS7 links to the network.

Nortel SL-100 switch tech for DOD, TAC-SWA (Tactical Army communications for south western Asia). Responsibilities: Daily operations and maintenance (O&M) of the Nortel SL-100 switch such as daily log reports for switch performance, weekly images and back ups, inputting translations for customers line options including; call waiting, call forwarding, call pickup, Conus, Nortel Meridian Mail 11 voice mail, ETC.... Normal servord line translations. Line diagnostics and testing. Trunk testing from map position and DSX panel. T-1/E-1 Transmission testing. Testing and trouble-shooting with TCF, (military Tech control facilities) for various types of traffic impairments. Main distribution frame maintenance. Responsibilities also include: O&M on the Nortel OC-48 SONET ring system. O&M on the MM11 (Meridian mail-11). Translations for analog and digital meridian P-sets. Writing technical reports and Mop's. SONET Testing and characterization of fiber optic networks. This job consists of testing and characterization of the fiber trunks, internal equipment fiber connections and network node connections. The Optical equipment in this network includes the Sorrento (Osicom) Gigamux (32 channel metro and long haul metro DWDM system), Cisco Cerent 15454 equipment that host DS-1, DS-3, OC-3, OC12, and OC-48 cards which are muxed onto the Sorrento Gigamux DWDM for single fiber 2.4 gig Transmission. The Sorrento Gigamux DWDM then splits this fiber for Primary and Secondary ring protection. Testing responsibilities include; testing fiber trunks with the T-BERD 2310-2000 Test pad, for Bit errors, line, path and section errors, and dB power levels, ect.... Using an optical time-domain refractometer (OTDR) on optical trunks between nodes for dirty or bad fiber connectors, splice losses, reflectance loss, ect... Also using the EXFO Optical Spectrum analyzer to check for correct channel freq. alignment, noise and dispersion. These testing tools provide the information to properly analyze the SONET network for reliable, trouble free live traffic transmission

Installation and turn up of the NEC SPECTRALWAVE 32 Channel Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexer System (DWDM). In charge of installation crew. Job includes verifying MOPS with the AT&T floor supervisor, verifying correct east and west, protect and working fiber routes, interbay fiber connections, office alarm connections, power (PDF) positions, fiber cross connect positions, OC-48 interface, and normal Bellcore installation procedures. Also assisted NEC tester in testing out entire system.

Maintenance of the Nortel SL-100 Switch consist of interruption of switch morning reports, setting office images, backing up office images, working with technicians from the NOC center to troubleshoot switching and network problems, (swacting pm's, testing lcm, s, dtc, s, building trunk groups, testing subscriber lines, etc?). Reviewing operational measurements, SPMS reports, check SLM for new office image, verify available data store, MSM system status, and batteries, rectifier voltage etc Also maintained the Nortel meridian mail 11 networks. Assisted in upgrades with ESAT. Backing up system data, and the normal maintenance of C.O. Telecommunication equipment.

Operation and Maintenance Supervisor of the Department Of Defense Nortel-MSL100 Defense Information System Network project including technical training, direction, and troubleshooting and field support. * Responsible for all operations during MCI circuit cutovers worldwide for US military installations. * Cutover M.O.P.'s included: end to end testing, CSU/DSU Loop Up, Optioning CSU/DSU, echo cans options, satellite propagation delay corrections, T-1/E-1 interphases correction, and setting preemption translations. End to end testing with field techs and checking translations for routing T-1/E-1 to Europe, Asia and Middle east connections. Worked from Pentagon and various switches throughout the U.S. using Titan DACS 5500 3/1, for bandwidth management.

Also, installing and testing self-contained batteries and rectifiers, checking all C-Net Cables and all other cabling for correct connectivity for network element and processors.
