I joined the Royal Bank of Scotland Group as an IT Analyst. Using the skills and experience gained from my previous employment and education, I quickly adapted to this new role completing the initial training within 3 weeks. I always strive to gain additional responsibilities in my role and requested further training to enhance my development. This resulted in me being fully trained on all skill-sets within 6 months.Qualifications gained whilst working in this role:- CompTIA A+ 220-1001 - Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) - Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Cisco SECFND- Microsoft Azure: Fundamentals and Solutions- Certified Ethical Hacker: CEH v10I always ensured my own personal KPI’s were met consistently and I provided support to my colleagues to ensure we all worked towards the overall SLA’s and targets. I worked hard to build and maintain strong relationships both within the Service desk teams, and with our external customers who were based around the world. I confidently took ownership of any potential service impacting issue. I would escalate this if necessary, ensuring that I provided all parties with continual updates until the issue was resolved.

I joined JMH Power Distribution Ltd as a Cable Jointer apprentice, which gave me the opportunity to work for a company within the Power Distribution, Rail and EV Charge sectors. I quickly took it upon myself to learn the basic training, and within a month I had completed the required examinations and gained the qualifications required to work out on the road. Using my knowledge and experience gained in this field, I was able to help to deal with issues like faulty cables causing intermittent power, which involved the replacement and repair of electricity distribution network assets up to 33kV. Or testing the voltage, phasing, phase rotation and continuity on LV cables which are used throughout the national grid, to make sure they are in good health and full working order. Whilst in this role I was given the responsibility for dealing with any IT system faults that were onsite, due to my strong knowledge of computer systems. In some instances, a whole building would be losing power due to maintenance, therefore it was crucial servers, CCTV systems, building RFID cards etc., were shut down correctly to ensure equipment would not become damaged in the event of a power surge.

At the start of my employment, I worked as an Admin Assistant at Leicestershire County Council. I was promoted to the Team Leader/Social Work Co-ordinator, after only a few months, and became the council’s youngest Team Leader at the time. I quickly learnt to work effectively in this new post. My role included the workflow management of a 30 strong team, working alongside the other stakeholders within the council and making independent decisions in relation to the workflow. I managed the deadlines of important pieces of work, which included the preparation of court documents, which were then presented to court, in advance of the court date. I also ensured that critical data was imported, created and maintained in an accurate manner. I Produced high quality analytical dashboards, which were used by Senior Managers. I gained considerable management experience both leading and developing a large team. In addition to this role, I also gained the responsibility for IT Support within my local office. I provided IT support to local colleagues if they had any urgent IT queries, as the IT Department was in a different location. The queries were received via different formats including email and by telephone. I dealt with every query in a polite and confident manner. They varied from computer software issues, hardware issues or both.
