As the Senior Software Development Manager for the Payments Domain, I am responsible for leading 8 engineering teams in geographically distributed locations, building the services and functionality to facilitate payments to and from customer accounts.

Prime Video is Amazon’s video on demand internet streaming service. I managed the team responsible for the customer browsing and search experience on living room devices through a tier-1, highly available service that delivers the customer UI to tens of millions of Amazon customers worldwide on smart TVs, set top boxes and games consoles

Ocado is the world's largest online-only grocery retailer. As Team Leader I was responsible for the Payments Systems development teams: one in Poland maintaining the live system used by the existing website, and one team in the UK developing the cloud-based next-generation payments processing service.

Oracle, one of the world’s leading enterprise software companies, acquired Datanomic Ltd in July 2011. dn:Director was rebranded as Oracle Enterprise Data Quality (EDQ).

Datanomic was a software company providing data quality solutions, primarily to the financial services industry. I joined Datanomic very early on in its history, and was therefore able to make a strong contribution to the initial development of its products as a key member of the development team. Responsible for day to day management of the dn:Director core development team. As well as keeping a hands-on development role, my additional responsibilities as team leader included: • Resource and project planning• Assignment of bugs and tasks • Delivering release candidate builds to system test team• Liaising with system test team to review test scripts• Managing the Ant-based build system

Lead developer for Datanomic’s dn:Match product, written in Visual C++. I was responsible for designing the document model, the algorithms for the processing engine and contributing to the design and implementation of the configuration and data review user interfaces. I was then responsible for rewriting the software in Java as a part of the company’s next generation data quality product: dn:Director. As time went on I became more and more familiar with and was able to contribute to development of the overall data quality product.dn:Director was written in Java running on the Tomcat application server with a Postgres backend database, later Oracle DB. The client user interfaces were Java Webstart applications using Swing.

Cartezia provides software development and consultancy services to a diverse range of clients. I worked on two projects:Cantos Cantos is a company that provides investor relations services. I was part of a team that developed a video content delivery platform and content management system. The system was built using the ATG Dynamo application server with a Java application layer, an Oracle backend database and HTML & Javascript pages.TeamWarrior A startup company providing fleet management software based on the Compaq iPAQ. I developed an application to deliver traffic and safety camera alerts to the iPAQ Satellite Navigation System produced by TeamWarrior. The software was written using Embedded Visual C++.

Quillion developed an object-oriented data warehousing solution written in Visual C++ and used in the oil and gas, transport and finance industries. I was responsible for design and development of a proprietary data mapping language, mapping engine and development UI, to run within the data warehousing product. I later contributed to the design and development of Quillion’s DataBridge product, a system designed to unify disparate data schemas under a unified object-oriented logical data model. I was specifically responsible for the development of the logical data model and mapping system, and the configuration UI, written using Visual C++.

Cimio specialised in file format conversion software, primarily for process plant asset management systems used in the oil and gas industry. I worked on Cimio’s Data Mapping Environment: a late binding data mapping engine that used a language based on STEP (ISO-10303) to generate C++ code to perform the conversion of asset data from one system format to another. My responsibilities included design, implementation and maintenance of the data storage API, and the C++ mapping code generation engine. The software was written using Visual C++ with the RogueWave development kit.
