I utilized specialized 3d hardware & software, including a hand held laser scanner mounted on an articulated mechanical arm capable of scanning an area approximately six feet wide by three feet tall. I would measure 3d points on automotive body panels to check for accuracy and consistency against original design CAD files. This required knowledge and use of 3DMagic2000 (Custom Software created for Toyota), ScanWorks, Geomagic Studio, and PolyWorks.
