Duties and responsibilities include: Daily management and supervision of multiple site teams undertaking drilling and grouting activities. Optimize output and ensure daily targets are met through continued motivation of the workforce. Display an excellent technical understanding of drilling, grouting and tunnelling techniques to ensure that where possible, problems are foreseen and if not, contribute positively to their resolution. Ensure high standards of health and safety are upheld during 24 hour shifts. Volunteer as a Beyond Zero safety champion and assist with the implementation of solutions to safety concerns, alongside senior management. Prepare and modify drilling schedules in line with design specifications and unforeseen ground conditions. Use real-time monitoring data (GroutControl® software) to design and review grout proposals for pre-treatment grouting, concurrent grouting (both TBM advances and multiple SCL tunnel excavations) and targeted grout jacking events. Attend Shift Review Groups, RESS and CTC meetings liaising with multiple parties. Provide training and tuition for new shift engineers in both theory and practice of compensation grouting and drilling activities. Produce weekly progress reports, activity plans, task briefings, TBT’s and brief to the workforce on a regular basis. Carry out routine H&S inspections and QA assessments in line with the ITP. Assist in the preparation and monitoring of four weekly programmes, compensation events and early warning notifications in conjunction with the commercial department. Schedule and undertake shaft setting-out and as-built surveys of installed TaMs. Complete borehole deviation surveys using Reflex Maxibor II survey tool. Show less
