Lead within and across team functions to ensure accurate price management, contract administration, procurement and fulfillment of product/service. Support appropriate level of team coverage; participate in cross functional teams for the development of common policies and procedures.Develop effective working relationships with department leaders, staff and suppliers to support a collaborative environment for minimizing supply, equipment, and/or purchased services expenditures while ensuring appropriate quality & supplier service levels.Lead / direct product conversions and implementations resulting from savings opportunities. Work with key suppliers to implement effective vendor managed inventories, assist site materials teams in understanding inventory requirementsStay current with market trends and new technology for supplies, equipment and services. Work with suppliers and end-users to develop general understanding of technology and utilization issues in relevant product areas.Form and lead working groups to develop clinical/operational requirements for savings, demonstrating an effective understanding of related politics, financial and operational implications, and addressing technology and utilization trends.Deliver financial savings by effectively addressing contract opportunities (rebid, extend, convert, or customize/enhance existing contracts). Lead the contracting process including RFP development and assessment, negotiation, extensions and compliance.Utilizing existing data sources and reports, analyze product/equipment/service requirements, related costs, and to support appropriate planning, acquisition, inventory management, and/or disposition strategies.Develop and implement effective two-way communication strategies with relevant stakeholders. Utilize templated tools (project plans/charters, negotiation plans, executive contract summaries, etc.)

Develop expert-level understanding of device, supply, service or equipment sources, supplier performance, potential lead times or shipping disruptions to support most time-appropriate and cost-effective procurement.With in-depth knowledge of device/supply functionality and specifications,educate requisitioners to maximize use of formulary items ~70,000 active items in Allina's item master.Provide product knowledge/expertise to support resolution of backorder situations and optimal substitute product and vendor source.Placement and oversight of orders, including rush requisitions.Troubleshoot & correct any issues that cause requisitions not to convert to purchase order.Ensure requisitioner understands RUSH (high priority) parameters, associated costs, and supplier ability to meet time requirements.Work to meet requisitioners' need while minimize freight and handling costs.Address pricing discrepancies when supplier challenges contract pricing.Contact supplier for documentation of order receipt, track-down internal routing discrepancies, or determine if loss should be taken and item reordered.Reconcile credit to returns, pricing errors, product set-up problems and take corrective action.Review "item add" requests to identify formulary product opportunities, GPO on-contract options, and preferred supplier product options.Participate in strategic supplier management programs for product / service / equipment group for suppliers with Allina sales exceeding ~ $1,000,000 annually.Monitor, analyze and adjust department inventory levels to avoid stock outs and excess inventory.Develop relationships with customers and meet with them on a regular basis to understand and meet their supply needs.Build Lawson reports, excel spreadsheets and word documents.Speak with company customer service and meet with sales representatives.Cycle count inventory locations.
