I have worked in some of the most rewarding, inspiring, and challenging environments where there was an over-abundance of EQ, IQ, teamwork, and shared values. The whole team was aligned and committed to doing the right things for the right reasons. I have also worked in some of the most hectic, chaotic, and toxic environments alongside people with competing priorities, visions, and agendas. My ability to survive across the spectrum of these two opposing forces has been to never negotiate or compromise a core set of strengths and values that I’ve defined, refined, and practiced over the years. Along the way I’ve paid special attention to my best, worst, and most mundane moments and listened to what others have to say about me and my work; both critical and congratulatory. I put a critical lens to what aspects of my work receive the most praise to determine which personality traits and skills allowed me to excel. I’ve learned that employing contagious Empathy, going against the grain as a Respectful Contrarian, taking a trust fall into Collaboration, being Authentic, and building a strong foundation based on Data are the core strengths to continuously improve upon the quality of my work and my effectiveness to lead or participate in any team environment.
