I'm known for developing strong relationships with my clients, their families and wider support networks.I have a comprehensive understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the importance of judging capacity on a decision by decision basis. Some of my recent workload has included the following:• Securing authority from the Court of Protection to purchase land and property outside of England and Wales and arranging the construction of a purpose built property in a foreign jurisdiction• Obtaining a substantial NHS Continuing Healthcare Direct Payment which is the largest negotiated with the particular NHS Clinical Commissioning Group involved • Various applications to the Court of Protection for Statutory Wills (both contested and uncontested)• Negotiating and agreeing a number of Local Authority funded Direct Payments towards the cost of careI'm an affiliate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners having successfully completed the Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation in January 2014 and the Advanced Certificate in Advising Vulnerable clients in December 2017. I'm regularly invited to speak on specialist subjects at conferences and networking events. I've recently delivered presentations at the following:- Chase De Vere annual deputyship conference - I delivered a presentation on NHS Continuing Healthcare funding to an audience of professional deputies - National College of Occupational Therapists Annual Conference - I delivered a presentation on the Care Act to an audience in excess of 150 independent occupational therapists - Carer Support Wiltshire launch - I spoke about the Care Act at a series of breakfast meetings aimed at employers across Wiltshire Show less
