As part of this effort, I developed the FAR Strategy to help bridge the gap between pedagogical practice and the design process for new and remodeled spaces: Fluid, which is designed to empower the student to easily reconfigure his or her learning environment to suit learning needs and styles; Adaptive, which is designed to empower the instructor to reshape the learning environment according to the dictates of pedagogy; and Reactive, which is designed to react to changes in the technological and programmatic environment to suit the needs of the institution.
