After retirement, my wife & I purchased a 42' twin-engine cruising boat and traveled America's Great Loop. We started in Port Sanilac, MI, where we purchased the boat, and took just under 3 years to complete the 6,000+ mile boat trip. We stopped intermittently along the way for personal reasons, but finally "crossed our wake" back at Port Sanilac. For 2 people who had never owned a boat, it was quite a challenge to take up in our 50s (for Phyllis) & 60s (for me), but it was a challenging experience that we would never have passed up. This summer we are going to cruise Canadian waters, including traversing both the Trent-Severn Waterway and the Rideau Canal. After that, who knows where the winds, waters, & roads will take us!

Provide systems engineering support for U.S. Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems related to Space and Naval Warfare Command (SPAWAR) Information Technology (IT) and Information Assurance (IA) Technical Authority (TA) responsibilities. Currently supporting Navy migration to the Joint Information Environment (JIE) Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) architecture, primarily in the requirements and test strategy development domains. Previously supported implementation of multi-enclave client (MEC) capabilities in the Pacific Theater and coordinating those efforts with USPACOM so they contribute to the JIE Mission Partner Environment (MPE) 2021 vision. Prior efforts include developing interface control standards and processes for C4I and combat/weapon systems connecting to SPAWAR LANs and for all surface ship systems connecting to the DoD Information Network (DoDIN). Also supporting development of network architecture modifications to improve system Integration and Interoperability (I&I), cyber security and IA.

Key participant in the acquisition of Novonics Corporation by Camber Corporation in December 2012. Successfully led transition of Novonics Pacific Division contracts, personnel and processes to Camber, while continuing to provide leadership to the Camber Pacific team. Develop and execute the business development strategy for the Pacific Directorate, and integrate that strategy with the Camber Mission Support Group and corporate strategic goals.Led Capture and Proposal Management as both prime and sub for several opportunities, resulting in 20% annual growth in revenues for Directorate during my tenure with Camber. Established critical partnerships with international industry leaders, including led efforts resulting in Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA) and direct contracts with foreign companies. Program Manager for several subcontracts, collaborating with both government customers and prime contractor.

Chaired and led development and implementation of the charter for PEO IWS 7C T&E/Safety/Certification Working Integrated Product Team (WIPT), responsible for integrating and managing efforts of all program office functional and product teams related to program office T&E and Certification efforts.

Developed and managed the overall System Integration and T&E program, from shore-based system level Development Tests (DTs) through Shipboard Operational Verification Tests (SOVTs), and final shipboard DT for the Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT) program

Recruited, trained, motivated, and directed a diverse team of civil servant and contractor computer scientists, electronics engineers and technicians in the successful development and accomplishment of Combat System Integration Test (CSIT) plans for the Navy Newt Threat Upgrade (NTU) CG/DDG, and LHA ship classes.Planned, coordinated, managed, developed and administered annual financial budgets for, executed, and reported on CSIT efforts for the New Threat Upgrade on 5 classes of U.S. Navy destroyers and cruisers.
