Working closely with policy teams and press offices of major retail brands, I help create and disseminate a narrative for the retail industry to journalists, policy-makers and the public. I drive forward both high level strategy, as well as supporting my team on our everyday communication needs. I have led the BRC's external comms on both Brexit and Covid, successfully driving forward our policy asks in these areas. Ultimately the proof is in the outcomes. Since joining, our media coverage has more than quadrupled, with similar growth for national TV, radio and newspaper coverage. I work closely with public affairs colleagues to create communications strategies that help drive home our lobbying goals - be it cutting business rates for retailers during the pandemic, or getting a new law to protect shopworkers through parliament.
