Summer Internship (6 weeks)Between my 1st and 2nd year at university, I enjoyed working at Cardinal in a rotational role. I spent a week in each of 6 different departments, across 2 sites, so I learnt a lot about the running of a global logistics operation. This being my first experience in a commercial environment, I developed a lot as an individual.Operations (Ocean Imports, Ocean Exports, Air Freight and Road Freight):After being introduced to the industry and familiarised with the software FCL, I was in contact with clients and assisted with their needs, eg. amending/creating bookings, quoting and invoicing. Accounts:Collaborated with staff in a range of roles, including the treasurer, credit controllers and the finance reporting analyst. I developed my skills with Microsoft Excel, alongside being introduced to Oracle NetSuite to make use of its various features.Sales:During my time in the Sales department I got the chance to target potential new clients with another colleague. I was also fortunate enough to join a director in meeting another overseas logistics firm, enhancing my awareness of the global industry.
