Currently, I am Software Architect for the second time at Userful Corporation, involved in adding new capabilities to Userful's Visual Networking Platform.Previously, I was System Architect at Genesis Technical Systems a telecom equipment provider, headquartered in Calgary, Canada, but with extensive operations in the UK.Prior to Genesis, I worked at Userful Corporation as Software Architect, responsible for new software technologies and practices. Userful develops solutions for digital signage, education and public computing.Before Userful I was the co-founder and CTO of Hatsize Corp., an established and growing cloud automation company, I was able to use and develop my skills in project management, strategic and tactical planning and implementation. I found the experience of working in a start-up company both exhilarating and rewarding.As the technical lead at Hatsize for 12 years, I was personally responsible for all aspects of the architecture, design and initial development of a complex, distributed, SaaS-based cloud provisioning and remote access application. Based on this product, the company has grown to over 40 employees, continued to be profitable, and acquired a list of tier 1 customers such as Symantec, Juniper Networks and IBM. I have also been responsible for the management of the development team as it has grown along with the company .
