I am driven by a passion for creating meaningful impact for queer and trans people of color (QTPOC). As a publisher, I amplify trailblazing LGBTQ+ creatives and their content through modern media, gaining invaluable experience in creating and sharing stories that inspire change and promote inclusivity.As the founder and executive director of the Black and Brown Equity Coalition (BaBEC), I lead initiatives that champion racial and gender-expansive equity in LGBTQ+ spaces, with a focus on Fire Island. BaBEC's work is grounded in the principle of self-determination, affirming the right of QTPOC, to freely shape their place and role in Fire Island's social and cultural landscape. We advocate for increased visibility, access, space, and equity, challenging existing power structures and fostering community resilience. Through this work, I've honed my leadership skills and deepened my understanding of the systemic challenges facing QTPOC in predominantly white LGBTQ+ spaces.My commitment to QTPOC advocacy has led me to influential roles in shaping national policy. I've had the privilege of advising the White House's National MPOX Response Team and consulting for Georgetown University on LGBTQ+ sexual health equity. These experiences have broadened my perspective on the global challenges our community faces and the innovative solutions needed to address them.With a diverse background spanning private, nonprofit, and governmental sectors, I continue to leverage my skills and experience to drive change. Whether developing strategies to promote equity, advising on health policies, or fostering collaborations, I remain dedicated to pushing boundaries and creating a more just and inclusive world for QTPOC and the entire LGBTQ+ community.
