• Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, LLP’s and Limited companies following the accounting guidelines and regulatory framework • Preparation of Company Tax Returns • Assisting on company audits from varied business sectors within the UK and internationally • Preparation of Individual Tax Returns and assistance in tax planning• Managing the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns for specific clients• Drafting analytical reports for companies based on commercial activity occurring within their financial year• Building and maintaining a rapport with clients

- Checking through the financial accounts prepared for various NHS Trust across the UK against a Monitor FTC check-list- Ensuring all relevant documents were submitted and that the financial statements were signed- Reporting any discrepancies found within the accounts to the line manager

OSI Management is freight and logistic management company which freights goods to different parts of the world, predominantly West Africa. During this work experience I gained some insight on the areas of the sales ledger and the purchase ledger by shadowing a finance clerk. I learnt about raising invoices from purchase orders and inputting suppliers invoices into Sage. I also had the opportunity of using Pegasus. I was responsible for sorting through receipts, filing invoices, banking cash and cheques and notifying customers of outstanding balances. Overall I gained a good understanding of the role of an accountant within an organisation.
