Working with the Superintendent and other C-Suite level decisions makers, I was tasked with redeveloping the library into a model of 21st Century learning. In order to support excellence in education, and to complement our district's 1-to-1 laptop program, I have added extensive online resources, featuring an incredibly deep and user-friendly online research database, an extensive collection of multi-user, simultaneous audiobooks, student helpdesk support, and curating a new collection of physical books, all while reducing budgetary expenditures by 25%. In the process of this creation, I have developed relationships with vendors to supply the needs of our students, all while operating in an entrepreneurial capacity to add value to all education in our building and district.During the pandemic shutdown, I pivoted to creating and deploying professional development as a Tech Coach working directly with other teachers to support online, remote instruction.

Virtual Enterprises is the class you wish you had in high school. Students create and manage a small international corporation right from the classroom. Working in a curricular setting, students in VE classrooms lead practice businesses that interact in a global economic sandbox. It allows the students to experience every aspect of a small corporation and learn from successes and failures. As part of this year-long class, students can earn honors credits, while growing their leadership, presentation, problem-solving and analytical abilities.In many classrooms, the most important part is learning the answer. In VE, students learn how to ask the questions, find answers, act on results, and evaluate their solutions. • Lead VEI staff development and educational activities in three high schools in Granville County• Work with administrators and county staff to develop relationships within the community to showcase student abiltiies• Facilitate 2 VEI classes by acting as a management consultant for student-led businesses• Led student-team to 4 consecutive North Carolina Business Plan Championships (2014 - 2017)

Summer Study Programs is an industry-leading pre-collegiate program for high school students. It operates on several college campuses across the world, including Penn State, Colorado State, Fordham and others.• Led daily and summer-long operation of a pre-collegiate summer experience for 100 – 500 high school students.• Supervised and mentored a staff (15-40 individuals) of instructors and advisors.• Manage an operating budget in excess of $15,000• Plan and train staff to execute multiple daily recreational events• Interface with University staff to ensure the best possible educational experience for students

Teaching in a New Tech Network high school that was part of North Carolina New Schools, I was immersed in a project-based learning school environment. In the short time I was at HNTHS, I created a partnership with the Durham Convention and Visitors Bureau and connected my students to the community. The most successful project was a collaboration with the Carolina Jaguars, a semi-professional basketball team. My students created and pitched new logos & web presence for the team, that while ultimately were not chosen, gave the students valuable insight and experience to the creative side of business.I served as a member of the School Improvement Team and worked collaboratively with fellow educators to create an expectation of student excellence across the school.

PHUEL is the high school division of Philadelphia Area Disc Alliance, the managing body for Ultimate Frisbee in Philadelphia, PA.In this role, I was able to facilitate league growth by 30%, set the foundation for the first girls division, add coaches to 85% of the teams in the league, and foster a spirit of community and competition that lead to increased visibility, participation and integration with the local adult leagues.• Unanimously elected to serve as first President of the Board.• Govern league consisting of over 30 teams in the Southeastern PA area, covering Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.• Responsible for all league activities, including, but not limited to:• Competition committee.• Rules and Sportsmanship infractions.• USA Ultimate liaison.• Philadelphia Area Disc Alliance (PADA) liaison.• Website developer and webmaster• Obtained $5000 in grants to foster growth in youth Ultimate in the high school division

I served on the staff of Summer Study Programs, one of the largest pre-collegiate summer educational experience programs in the US. I supervised a group for 6 1/2 weeks, ranging in size from 12-20 high school students. I was also responsible for teaching classes, overseeing large trips, running recreational activities, planning large events and interacting with other staff members to ensure the best possible experience for the students.

I was responsible for ensuring positive cash flow for the Minibar operations at the Wyndham Franklin Plaza in Philadelphia, PA. I managed a staff of 5 attendants, creating the job responsibilities, work schedule, and evaluation procedures. I was also responsible for daily account reconciliation, tracking the cost of goods sold, maximizing efficiency and revenue. I interfaced with the hotel management on a daily basis, particularly with the Food and Beverage Manager.I left this position to pursue a career in education.
