Mr. Kenan received a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from the University of Oklahoma (1953), served as a Naval Officer aboard a U.S. destroyer (1953-1956), received a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Oklahoma (1958), studied comparative law at New York University Law School where he received a master of laws degree (1959), studied comparative constitutional law at the University of Paris (1959-1960 academic year), was an associate in a major Wall Street law firm, Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton (1960-1961), was the legislative assistant to U.S. House of Representatives Majority Leader Carl Albert (1962-66) and then became a practitioner of securities and corporation law for 45 years in Oklahoma City as a partner in several law firms or in an “of counsel” capacity to the firms until he moved to Houston, Texas in 2011 and limited his practice to three clients. Mr. Kenan returned to Oklahoma City in late 2013 and devotes approximately 50% of his time to the affairs of Kenan Oil Investment.
