I am a semi-retired senior emergency management consultant who specialized in crisis management, public health, homeland security and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). I have experience taking charge of and completing projects at the local, state, federal and the international level. I am a dynamic communicator, keen writer, and a team player.I have spent the last 30 years developing a portfolio style career with a foundation as a paramedic working in both 911 dispatched and critical care transport systems. During this time, I simultaneously maintained, a full-time career in emergency management and public health while consulting frequently on crisis management projects. A Portfolio Career Lifestyle allows me to live a life that is tailored to my individual personality, goals, time, interests, and income needs. As an example, during the Summer of 2016 I traveled with my family across the United States over 9000 miles, visiting 26 States, and 20 National Parks over 45 days. In 2018 traveled the East Coast all the way to Key West and back over 25 days. In 2019 traveled the Northwestern states to Olympia National Park and back. Visited 22 states. Traveled to all 48 continental states and over 70 National parks and historical sites by RV with the family. Contemplating our next adventure...A Portfolio Career is a life in which instead of working a traditional full-time job, you work multiple part-time jobs—including part-time employment, temporary jobs, freelancing, and self-employment—with different employers, jobs that when combined are the equivalent of a full-time position. My experience in multiple career sectors has allowed me to gain experience in everything from managing large scale emergency responses to writing grants, saving lives, managing projects, establishing programs, implementing systems and educating individuals in all sectors.
Listed skills include Emergency Management, Emergency Services, Preparedness, Disaster Response, and 46 others.

Self-Reliance Solutions was a entrepreneurial start-up established to provide a one-stop resource for solar energy and specialized tools to help individuals, families, and businesses develop efficiency, conservation and preparedness through education, providing renewable energy products, and integrated solutions for each client’s unique needs. The goal was to be partners with our customers, our community and our environment. I believed that whatever your motive, self-reliance through energy conservation, efficiency, and preparedness is good for your home, your business, your community and the planet.I worked diligently to establish a friendly neighborhood brick and mortar style renewable energy store offering the highest quality products and services but after a year of effort the business closed. I was over-confident, under-capitalized, lacked the renewable energy industry specific experience and failed to understand the overall implications of opening a storefront business. Despite investing over $60,000 into the effort, the real investment turned out to be my education in business start-up's and learning more about myself. These experiences changed my life and helped me to develop more focus on those things most important to me. I spent two years clearing up the finances and then gracefully moved onto other challenges.
