Current

Lampros Solar designs and installs grid-tied and stand-alone solar electric systems. We are developing flexible CIGS solar cells and modules for BIPV applications. Process development includes roll-to-roll handling, metal and conductive oxide sputtering, thermal evaporation, metallization and encapsulation. We also offer a solar-heated livestock water trough, using a combination of PV and solar thermal technology. This stand-alone system will make ice buildup in troughs a problem of the past.

Director Of Process Technology

Plainview, Ny, Us

Member of initial start-up CIGS thin-film Process Development team, establishing Roll-to-Roll solar cell processing capability on 30cm to 1m wide web. Owned the process technology roadmap; collaborated with Systems R&D on equipment roadmap. Managed an internal team and process development program to build a 20 MW/year production capability. Developed core processes for reactive sputtering of metals and oxides, thermal co-evaporation of CIGS layer. Established and ran joint development programs with customers or other R&D institutions. Processed customer samples or provided samples for demonstration purposes and provided a technical point of contact for our customers. Assured that process and demonstration of equipment lead to acceptance tests at factory and at customer site. Made technical presentations to customers and worked with customers in drafting technical roadmaps and setting product specifications. Hired, trained and provided professional staff development. Provided process related support to manufacturing, marketing and sales, including assistance with customer acceptance testing. Developed or modified process formulations, definition of standard processing and equipment requirements and specifications, and reviewed processing techniques and methods used in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of optical coatings. Reviewed product requirements with design staff to ensure compatibility of processing methods and processing equipment. Recommended and prepared changes, additions, and modifications to facilitate improved processes and equipment improvements.
