Dr. Tom Larder is an experienced CEO and Board member who likes to think that his main strengths are strategic planning and common sense. That's not to say he doesn't have a skill set that allows him the privilege of being involved in corporate affairs and corporate governance. Tom is all about innovation and the benefits that follow. For the past few years Tom as put all of his energy (with his other 2 co-founders) into his new Startup, Popin Parcel. As a highly trained "person of science", Dr. Larder tends to have an inquiring mind and is not afraid to ask the tough questions of both management and his fellow Board members, but in the end is very much a team player who participates in knowledge-based decision making. Tom has always had excellent business instincts which were mandatory for building a very successful international dental supply business (Endo/Tech Ltd.), participating on numerous Corporate Boards and now for the development of Popin Parcel.Dr. Larder has three decades of experience in corporate governance in industries ranging from medical device to real estate to financial services. After stepping down from the position of Chairman of the CDSPI Board in 2004, Tom was honoured by the Board with the title Chairman Emeritus. Previous Board experience includes Radica Canada Ltd.(acquired by Mattel Inc-NYSE), Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation, Neuro Navigational Corporation (acquired by Ballard Medical Products and now a division of Kimberly-Clark -NYSE) and United Equities Ltd. Dr. Larder has experience on Audit and Governance Committees. Tom also consulted for American Composite Technology (Boston) and Force Ten Inc. (Halifax).In 2010, Dr. Larder completed the Directors Education Program (ICD.D) at McGill University. His other education includes a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Dalhousie University (1975) and a Certificate in Endodontics (1977) from Tufts University in Boston and numerous courses from various Universities - MIT, Harvard, International University of Monaco (IUM), etc. Dr. Larder was an assistant professor at Dalhousie University for many years and is a past president of the Nova Scotia Dental Association.
