Worked for Daniel Koppel in New Zealand with one other on a 110ft sailing boat to prepare for an ocean crossing to Australia.• Independent working – I undertook tasks to achieve boat readiness e.g., cleaning, scrubbing decks, sanding, varnishing, and polishing. • Organizational skills – I planned day to day work and shopped for supplies. • Team working – My crew responsibilities included, setting sails night and day watches, and cooking meals.

Italy

Worked for New Horizons. Horizons is an 82ft wooden ketch taking paying customers around the Island on the west coast of Italy.• Problem solving - I rescued a dingy by setting up a pully system to pull the boat out of the water.• Interpersonal skills – I worked with a wide verity of nationalities and personalities.• Tasks - I cleaning guest cabins, helming, operating the anchor and setting sails• Leadership skills and development, I skippered for four legs of the journey over 60 nautical mile crossing from Naples to Corfu.

I undertook my RYA day skipper with David Lyle at Craobh Haven and subsequently got a job at the local marina onboard a Mitchell 31ft Motor. My job was to make sure the guests stayed safe and enjoyed the wildlife and scenery on the west islands of Scotland. Work included helming the boat, cleaning, and mooring the boat.
