The Central Bank of Ireland has responsibility for the regulation of the Irish financial services industry and the safeguarding of Irish financial stability, and within the Bank, the Registry of Credit Unions (RCU) is responsible for the registration, regulation and supervision of credit unions.I am responsible for the prudential supervision of a dedicated portfolio of credit unions using a risk-based, outcomes focussed approach to supervision aligned to the RCU PRISM framework. I undertake detailed analysis of financial and regulatory return data, Key Risk Indicator movements, strategic/business plans and key policies and projections for individual firms to ensure effective targeting of the supervisory engagement in addressing key risks and Firm risk profiling under PRISM.I provide critical supervisory assessment of proposed consolidation proposals and work with Central Bank supervisory teams and the Credit Union Restructuring Board in order to contribute to the strategic aim of sectoral restructuring.
