Design stopped me in my tracks when I was in high school during a work experience placement at an advertising agency. I was drawn to the bustling energy, passion for storytelling and craft that I was surrounded by.After studying design and business, I freelanced for over 7 years. I managed and delivered branding projects for new and established businesses, provided creative direction at advertising agencies and led user experience design at tech startups in customer service and healthcare industries. I also dabbled in front-end development. I loved the variety that came with executing 5-10 major projects each year, but ultimately wanted to hone in my focus and be there to accelerate growth at one company. That motivation led me to Eugene - a digital healthcare company who are revolutionising genetic testing for family planning and preventative health. Here I am the lead designer. My role involves human-centred product design and brand stewardship. I get super excited about uncovering insights which lead to improving the experience for our customers and team. Co-designing potential solutions with end-users, product and tech teams is where I have the most fun. Creating and maintaining design systems for our internal software, website and customer facing software is no easy feat but very rewarding.
