About Tom Manning

I am the former Chairman and CEO of Dun & Bradstreet, the world's leading corporate information and analytics company. I currently serve as Chairman of Cresco Labs, one of the leading cannabis companies in the U.S. I am also an independent director of CommScope, a Fortune 500 company and global leader in telecommunications technology, and an independent director of ChinData, a leading hyperscale data center company in Asia. I also serve as a director of The Basics, a Boston-based pioneer in early childhood education, and as Chairman of The Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra. I was a Fellow and Senior Fellow in the Advanced Leadership Initiative at Harvard University (2019-2021), where I launched a social enterprise incubator, called Harvard Square Lab. Following my fellowship, I advised Aegis Ventures on the launch of an AI-focused venture portfolio in conjunction with Northwell Health that sought to improve health equity. I am also a past adjunct faculty member of the University of Chicago Law School and also at the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, where I was named an Executive-in-Residence in 2018. In the past, I have served as CEO of Cerberus Asia Operations & Advisory, Indachin, Capemini Asia, and Ernst & Young Consulting Asia, and a senior partner at Bain & Company. I served on the board of Clear Media Limited; the Bank of Communications, China's fifth largest bank; Gome Electrical Appliances, one of China's largest retailers; AsiaInfo-Linkage Holdings, China's leading telecom software company; iSoftStone, China's leading IT services firm; and, Alo7, a pioneer in educational games. Early in my career, I was with McKinsey, CSC Index, and Buddy Systems. I am a native of Chicago, a graduate of Harvard College (A.B., East Asian Studies, 1977) and Stanford (MBA, 1979), and a Mandarin speaker.
